Reduce the burden of Leprosy and other NTDs Uganda

Supporting the health system of Uganda to build the capacity of health workers and community workers through Village Health Teams to diagnose, manage and suspect leprosy. GLRA Uganda supports the linkage of individuals with and affected by leprosy and other neglected tropical diseases with other members of the civil society for saving – and credit schemes to support their livelihoods.

Reconstructive surgery for socio-economic integration of minors disabled by leprosy in Indore district

The objective is to ensure that people who suffer some type of disability caused by leprosy can regain their autonomy and improve their quality of life through reconstructive surgery and physical rehabilitation, in Indore (Madhya Pradesh state).

Reconstruction and equipping of the Chilakalapalli Hospital to strengthen the program to combat leprosy and other diseases related to poverty in four districts of India

The objective of the project is (i) to rebuild and equip the hospital; (ii) train local health personnel for early diagnosis; (iii) reaching remote tribal populations hitherto without health services through the Fontilles and GMLF mobile clinics, and (iv) expanding treatment to other pathologies prevalent in the area and linked to poverty, mainly filariasis, malaria and HIV AIDS.

The Inception project for integrated surveillance and holistic management of Neglected Tropical Diseases with Cutaneous manifestations (PSIPH MTN-Cutanée), is based on previous experience of integrated control projects against NTDs implemented by CNLP2LUB and FAIRMED, and aims to strengthen the health system in the Bafia health district, in the Centre region of Cameroon, before gradually extending to other health districts. The project’s intervention strategy relies on strengthening data collection /transmission, reinforcing the health system at district and community level and awareness campaigns, screening and integrated management of cutaneous NTDs.

PADI’s focus is on creating an inclusive environment where Children with Disabilities (CWDs) and Children Affected by Leprosy (CALs) have the same opportunities as their peers. We achieve this through capacity building for institutions and partner organizations, local advocacy efforts, and supporting individual child development through the Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR). Additionally, the project empowers communities to enable the full participation of individuals, including CWDs, CALs, and their families, across various aspects of community life.
