This project aims to empower people affected by leprosy in the Dili municipality, through the municipality’s leprosy program. The Project conducts advocacy activities, Leprosy screening and provision of food supplements to vulnerable people affected by leprosy and, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, carry out mass screening to the area that registered high case of Leprosy. This project is being implemented in 8 villages in the Dili Municipality. The project started in 1 of February 2023 and will be last for 6 months

This project builds on existing community based groups of people affected by NTDs. This project aims to strengthen the governance and income generation of the CBGs for sustainability.
The project’s objectives and activities: 1) Empower communities for inclusion of PWDs via capacity building and organizational readiness of partner organizations; 2) Raise awareness on SRHR though community engagement/consultations and events; and 3) Support women and girls with SRHR services adapted as necessary, with particular focus on those living with disability.
This project provides support throughout the continuum of care: active case finding, facilitation into treatment, complications management, ulcer care, footwear distribution, pre- / post -operative care for reconstructive surgeries; prevention of disability, socio-economic rehabilitation and promotion of patients’ rights through Self Support Groups; and health systems strengthening.

Improving GLRA East Africa (EA) programs capacity to address the needs of marginalized and disadvantaged people in East Africa. To this end, programme offices capacity to successfully implement programs/project consistent with GLRA’s mission and work ethics will be enhanced. Moreover, GLRA becomes more visible and a preferred partner in the region by governments, local /international donors and beneficiaries/ the public.
This project involves women and girls affected by leprosy and disability, including their families, the community and the local authority to prevent gender-based violence against women and girls and people affected by leprosy in the community.The main objective of the project is to increase the knowledge of women and girls, people affected by leprosy and their families about gender-based violence, give women and girls the opportunity to participate in decision-making in the family and community and increase family income through horticultural activity
To empower children with disabilities and their families. A total of 8,385 PWDs will be facilitated access to assistive devices, reconstructive surgeries and school materials to restore their mobility or physical function and access education. About 3,507 of the neediest PWDs will receive direct support. About 15 Parent Support Groups (PSGs) consisting of 300 parents or caregivers of PWDs will receive skills training and funding for business start-ups and two (2) FDPOs (Federation of Disabled People Organisation) will be enabled to undertake mobilisation, advocacy and awareness raising projects.
To provide non-educational support to elementary and middle school children and adults for empowerment. The coaches who provide the support are university students from self-help groups.
Targets NTDs (including Leprosy) and inter givernmental collaboration between health and social services, capacity building of health workers, strengthening communities of people with disabilities and community based rehabilitation.
To strengthen the National Leprosy Program in all its areas, through training and technical assistance to the Health Regions and will be aligned with the guidelines of the National Leprosy Control Program, which depends on the Ministry of Health, to improve the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of the disease and reduce the percentage of people with advanced disability due to leprosy. For the development of the project, all the infrastructure installed in the Hospital Menonnita Km 81 will be used as a national and international reference center for the management of patients with leprosy, will attend to complications and disabilities, carrying out a comprehensive treatment to all patients.
The project supports the orthopedic unit for disability prevention and physical rehabilitation of people affected by leprosy in Vizianagaram district (Andhra Pradesh state).
The objective of this project is the promotion of early diagnosis of leprosy, prevention of disabilities and medical rehabilitation of people affected by leprosy; strengthening the referral system and facilitating early diagnosis and treatment of leprosy with the active participation of ASHAs (health agents) and staff of primary care centers.
Through this project, our local partner, SCOPE, organizes mobile clinics to go through the villages of the district locating people affected by leprosy and giving them first of all health care and means to prevent disabilities (orthopedic shoes, prosthetics, etc.) and subsequently, both them and their families, training in income-generating activities.
The objective of the project is, on the one hand, to supply protection and disinfection materials to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 between the settlements where about 19,000 people are overcrowded; and on the other hand, distribute basic livelihoods (food, medicine and drinking water) among the beneficiary population with special attention to people affected by leprosy.

This LRI-funded study seeks to understand how electronic data collection tools can be used to support the collection of MMDP data and the implementation of a comprehensive and integrated morbidity management program for leprosy.

The project aims to improve Health Information Systems of Telangana State NLEP, by assessing current data system and data collection process at different levels, from PHC to State, followed by gap-filling and capacity-building exercises based on the findings and recommendations. The project also supports the development and effective utilization of data collection tools and formats by the state NLEP team.
