Leprosy NGO Federation adopts new strategy, appoints new CEO and moves to Geneva, “the world’s health hub”
On 13th April 2015, ILEP, the International Federation of Anti-Leprosy Associations, will start implementing its new strategy with the appointment of Tanya Wood as CEO. It will move its headquarters from London to Geneva.
On World Leprosy Day 2015, Jan van Berkel, President of ILEP, the International Federation of Anti-Leprosy Associations, calls for all laws that discriminate against people affected by leprosy and their families to be abolished. ILEP’s ongoing survey of the 63 countries where its 14 Members operate reveals that some 19 countries still have laws in place that discriminate against people with leprosy.
André Récipon, the spiritual son and first successor of Raoul Follereau (1903-1977), died on 16th January 2015, one week before 62nd World Leprosy Day. Mr Récipon also played an instrumental role in the International Federation of Anti-Leprosy Associations.
