Provision of equipment and reconstruction of the laboratory of the Chilakalapalli primary care center for the early diagnosis of leprosy and other diseases related to poverty

The project aims to provide health coverage to the population of four districts of India (Vizianagaram, Srikakulam and Visakhapatnam in the state of Andrah Pradesh; and Koraput district in the state of Orissa), highly endemic in leprosy. The population of these districts is severely affected by extreme poverty, coupled with the disabling effects of leprosy and other prevalent diseases and the terrible social stigma associated with them.
